List Servers Discussions
List servers are a form of communication via discussion lists hosted
by customer sites. Participants are IBM customers, ISV's,
those interested in the subject discussion, and and IBMers.
How does it work?
When you subscribe to a list, you receive
instructions for receiving mail from the list, and for sending info to
that list.
To "append", you send e-mail to the server which in turn
redistributes the note to the subscriber list.
"It has been my experience that questions are answered
promptly and sincerely and that newcomers (and first timers)
are welcomed warmly." (Pam Christina). So when you append for the
first time, please introduce yourself.
Why use the discussion lists?
For the virtually instantaneous
response to your user questions from members of the community.
And, also for you to respond and share your experience and help others.
Most listservs publish their archives of past and ongoing discussions
so take a look at their archive link to see what's being talked about.
