z/VM service required to run on the IBM z13, IBM z13s and LinuxONE

Note: In order to IPL z/VM 620 on a z13, you must have the z/VM 620 PTF for z13 compatibility, UM34521, installed on your z/VM 620 system. Since this PTF is not part of the z/VM 620 installation software, for a new installation of z/VM 620, you will need to perform the installation on a zEC12 or older processor and then install the PTF for hardware compatibility on your z/VM 620 system. Once the PTF is installed you can IPL your z/VM 620 system on your z13.
z/VM 630 can be installed directly on a z13 and service for VM65577 applied immediately afterward.
The table below provides you with a list of service required for z/VM V6.3 and V6.2 to run on the IBM z13 (driver 27), LinuxONE Emperor, IBM z13s and LinuxONE Rockhopper servers
Notes:
- Refer to the matrix of Linux on z Systems distributions tested and supported for use on a z13. It is very important this information is reviewed before bringing up any Linux distribution as a guest of z/VM.
