5E3 REXX/VSE and Automated Operations

Abstract:

In 1993 the popular computer language REXX/VSE became available for the VSE/ESA operating system. The introduction of the REXX/VSE Console Automation feature is attracting more and more customers toREXX/VSE and its capabilities for system automation.

This presentation will give an overview on the VSE-specific language elements of REXX/VSE (i.e. access to VSE resources, JCL, POWER, and Console Interface and will show you how to make use of them to automate the operation of your VSE/ESA system. In addition the new TCP/IP socket support will be discussed.
