5B1 Rapidly Build Java Systems for VSE with IBM VisualAge Generator V4

Abstract:

As IBM`s AD tool strategy evolves, several key technologies are coming together to provide best-of-breed facilities to implement enterprise e-Business solutions. VisualAge for Java and VisualAge Generator have been merged into a seamless Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to enable rapid and productive development of end-to-end web enabled scaleable and secure systems. VisualAge Generator technology, with its ability to create, from high level logical specifications, native compilable programs that can reach and manipulate both relational (DB2, Oracle) and legacy (IMS/DB, DL/I, VSAM) data on a variety of server platforms (OS/390, VSE, VM, OS/400, NT, AIX, HP/UX, Sun Solaris, OS/2) and transactional environments (CICS/ESA, IMS/TM, TX Series) will enrich and complement Java`s reach into the enterprise in a powerful, and elegant, and simple solution, allowing traditional programmers to implement state-of-the-art Internet/Intranet business systems in record time and with minimal Java expertise!
