5A8 The CICS Transaction Gateway - Web and Java Access to CICS

Abstract:

Come and learn about the CICS Transaction Gateway which is delivered at no extra charge as part of the CICS Transaction Server for VSE/ESA product package. This presentation provides an overview of the CICS Transaction Gateway -- an e-business connector -- which enables users with Web browsers or Network Computers to access applications and transactions running on CICS.

Combining the capabilities of the earlier CICS Gateway for Java with an integrated CICS Universal Client, the CICS Transaction Gateway provides state-of-the-art access to CICS from the world of Java and the Web. Now you can have CICS-enabled Java Applets running in your Web browser or Network Computer; or CICS-enabled Java Applications running on machines in your heterogeneous network; or CICS-enabled Java Servlets running on your Web Servers. And you can use Servlets that are supplied with the Gateway to drive 3270-transactions easily.
