5E3 REXX/VSE

Abstract:

In 1993 the popular computer language REXX/VSE became available for the operating system VSE/ESA, too. Especially the introduction of the REXX/VSE Console Automation feature attracts the attention of more and more customers to REXX/VSE and to its capabilities for system automation. This presentation gives an overview on the VSE-specific language elements of REXX/VSE (i.e. access to VSE-ressources, JCL-, POWER-, and Console Interface) and shows how to make use of them to automate operation of a VSE/ESA system.
