Accessing VSAM, DL/1 and DB2 / SQL/DS over ODBC and JDBC

Abstract:

HOB, a german connecitvity specialist, offers solutions for "Enterprise Database Connectivity" for data access to VSAM, DL/1, DB2 over ODBC and JDBC. This presentation will show how to access mentioned data, based on standard protocols (TCP/IP and SNA) and standard interfaces (ODBC and JDBC).

The middleware product HOBLink DRDA, an ODBC driver, enables access to all DB2 databases. HOBLink J-DRDA, a JDBC driver type 4, allows web-based database access over Intranet, Extranet and Internet. In addition with HOBDB online, a CICS transaction programm, both products allow to access VSAM and DL/1 data.
