3A4 Writing CGI Scripts for VM Web Servers

Abstract:

VM based web servers have provided a new and exciting capability for VM systems. However, to fully exploit this new capability you must move beyond serving static web pages, to providing dynamic content. One fundamental means of providing dynamic content is to use Common Gateway Interface (CGI) programs. The VM platform provides a base for creating and executing CGI programs that is unmatched by any other platform. This presentation will cover the basics of creating CGI programs on VM for any of the currently available VM based web servers. The presentation will concentrate on the areas of a CGI program that interact with the webserver.
