HSERV Subsystem of VM

The HSERV subsystem of VM includes responsibility for the following parts of the system:

  • CP Initialization/Termination
  • Lock Management
  • Soft ABEND
  • Dumping (CP and VM)
  • Trace Services
  • Generate/Build (loader and system configuration...not VMSES)
  • Linkage
  • Miscellaneous Services (LOCATE commands, Timezone, Release level changes such as QUERY CPLEVEL)
  • CP Exits
