Performance Toolkit for VM - APAR VM64819

The subject APAR provides updates and changes to the FL540 and FL610 levels of Performance Toolkit. The primary sources of these updates are from problems uncovered by internal IBM testing and from running Performance Toolkit for VM on internal IBM z/VM systems. The tables below contains a list of the internal problem numbers (column labeled "PITS") and an abstract of each problem corrected by way of this APAR.

FC01072 Omegamon implemented on node - segment fails and dumps on startup
FC01073 FCX249, SCSI, shows invalid percent connect column
(time measurement units were changed from usec to SCM units in order to avoid an overflow for a long time period - several hours)
FC01074 FCXVDS doesn't reset 'VDISK available' flag (reopened FC01048)
(garbage may be shown in repetitive MONSCAN runs)
FC01080 FIX32601 in FCXOWN overwrites RDEV pointer
(some CP owned DASD data may be wrong)
FC01085 Perfkit Abend using module created in June 08.
(Linux guest restart detection for LXCPU and LXNETWRK)
FC01093 FCX126 wrong value for Overall Physical Load when mixed engines
FC01096 %OVHD on FCX126 (LPAR) incorrect for mondata prior to release 5.3.0
FC01107 PRINTRMT does not work correctly from BASIC mode. ABEND AT FCXPSC+60
(abend if report name omitted for PRINTRMT command in BASIC mode)
FC01109 FCX180 shows incorrect values for logical IFLs in mixed environment
FC01120 Program check at FCXSSN+760
(abend in PROCSUM when heavy workload)
FC01127 Some information is not visible on MONSET screen on 80-cols terminal
FC01128 Left/right shift is permanently disabled under certain conditions
(possible for reports with variable length lines)
FC01152 UPAGE, FCX113 does not display Page Steals
(this field was never set - always left as zero)
FC01155 Perfkit dump processing today's MONDATA from GDLVM7
(abend in LPAR if only one interval in the mondata file)
FC01157 PRINTRMT header has invalid screen number for reports FCXnnn, nnn>255
FC01179 FCX109 Area Extent column wrong for 3390 mod 9
(high order digits in extent size number were simply omitted)
FC01208 Abend in FCXSTK+X'4B2' during repetitive MONSCAN invocations
(bug in FCXSTK - internal Perfkit universal stack support routine)
FC01213 PERFKIT ABENDING, ABEND AT FCXUST + 0AA2, Protection exception
(possible if Linux report LXMEM is used)
FC01218 USER report (FCX112) shows dots in Insert MDC/s column
(seen only in monscan/batch modes)
FC01220 Blanks appear in MEAN line and User class lines for MDC/S on
(additional correction for FC01218, also for monscan/batch)
FC01226 Zero (000) value Line length field after incorrect input on WEB logon
FC01229 VDISK (FCX147) >System< value for IO/s may be wrong
(possible with high I/O rate - 32-bit calcs are insufficient)
FC01243 Invalid value of transactions speed per hour in FCX129/UTRANS report
FC01248 Abend in FCXHTN+0272 while trying to open user def. screen via web
FC01255 FC DEFSCRN does not allow to set the informational text
FC01268 Invalid timestamp in UTRANLOG screen
(The timestamp for benchmarked user on UTRANLOG always points to midnight GMT)
FC01271 FCX225 SYSSUMLG reports T/V ratio less than 1.0
FC01293 FCX111 CACHDBSE screen is all BLANKs (iex'40) at startup
FC01303 FCX126 LPAR epilogue reports more CPU utilization than is possible
(possible if CPUs are varied offline/online)
FC01332 BYTIME/INTERIM reports may be irregularly spaced
FC01341 Device model is missing from the DEVICE (FCX108) screen
(there's only device type, not the model on that screen)

Product Enhancements

The following table documents enhancements made to Performance Toolkit as part of this APAR

PITS Abstract
FC00640 PERFKIT does not handle Gigabyte values, esp. with processor storage
(support for representation of any 64-bit number)
FC01098 FCX126 needs load by processor type
(support for CP/IFL/ICF/ZAAP/ZIIP CPU types on the LPAR report)
FC01146 Color/highlighting is turned off for menu screen headers under web
(all the color/highlighting attributes are handled properly for web)
FC01180 Moving total counters in FCXTRN to 64 bit
FC01224 Usability neither report names nor numbers appear on web screens
(string FCXnnn is prefixed to the report name on the web)
FC01237 Cursor should be automatically inserted in the command line under web
(when the 'Command' button is pressed then the cursor will be placed in the input field)
FC01249 Divide exception (PRG009) handler should be added to Perfkit
(any division inside Perfkit code that would have resulted in a PRG009 exception, will just lead to an informational message "FCXxxx199A Divide exception at...", and normal operation will continue with the quotient set to the max possible value)
FC01279 Too few decimal digits on user T/V ratio
(on the USER report "T/V ratio" format was changed from nn.n to nn.nn)
FC01320 Consider changing default 00:00 MONCOLL RESET for PERFKIT BATCH
(multi-day MONDATA files support)
