DirMaint Password Management: Service Levels

Last Updated: 2000-01-07     (Subscribe to updates)

Before reporting a problem with DirMaint's password management, please check the CMS Release and Service Levels.

Symptom:

DMSREX476E Error 41 running DVHSTPWC EXEC; bad arithmetic conversion.
DVHSPW3212E Unexpected RC= 20041, from: EXEC DVHSTPWC SETPW <id> CONFIG
DVHREQ2289E Your SETPW request for <id> at * has failed; with RC = 3212.

Resolution:

Issue a DIRM CMS QUERY CMSREL command; the result should be VM/ESA: 2.2.0, 2.3.0, or 2.4.0; or z/VM 3.1.0. Alternativly, issue a DIRM CMS QUERY CMSLEVEL command; with an expected result of level 13, 14, 15, or 16.

If you are using DirMaint's compiled REXX code, you must be using REXX/370 Run-Time Library version 1.3.0 (or later) with PTF UQ18345 for APAR PQ09571 applied. This is available on ESO 9810. If you are using the CMS Native REXX Run-Time Library, you must be running CMS release 2.3.0 (or later) with PTF UM29241 for APAR VM62022 and PTF UM29241 for APAR VM62203 both applied. UM29241 is available on RSU 9903, but UM29239 is only available as corrective service.

On prior releases of CMS, all unsupported, the REXX DATE() function returns values with leading zeros suppressed. In particular, DATE('J') returns a value of 3 rather than 00003 for January 3rd, 2000.

The same symptom may also be caused by non-numeric values for the PW_INTERVAL_FOR_SET configuration parameter.
