VM Batch Facility Overview

VM Batch Facility: General Information Manual (GC24-5572) |
As a batch processing program, the VM Batch Facility controls computing tasks that do not require your direct attention, thereby freeing up the terminal. The VM Batch Facility can do routine, time-consuming computing jobs for you while you keep working at your terminal. It also lets you run jobs at any time you specify-at night or on weekends, for example. Run jobs when more, and perhaps, less expensive resources are available.
The job scheduling capabilities of the VM Batch Facility can help you shift some of that 9 to 5 work load to other times of the day when the system has less to do.
