Real Time Monitor 1.5.3 for z/VM
Configuration File

RTM will read the nodeid RTMCONFG file if found, or the RTM RTMCONFG file to obtain information about table sizes and to process commands to set up the RTM environment. Using the nodeid for the file name allows you to run RTM on different systems from a common disk with different settings for each system.

Environment commands Specifying table sizes

You can include the following commands in the RTM RTMCONFG file:

  • INTERVAL
  • SET
  • BENCHMRK
  • ORDER
This eliminates the need for doing these from RTMINIT. This also includes setting each individual LOGMSG if you want to.

You can modify table sizes for these tables:

  • CPUs
  • VCPUs
  • USErs
  • MPUsers
  • DEVices
  • SYSDasd
  • VMCF
  • TRACE
This eliminates the need for local mods and rebuilding to change the size of a table.
