Determining the level of your VM NFS server.
Beginning in TCP/IP level 320 for VM/ESA Version 2, Release 4.0, the SMSG command command will tell you the server level.
From a CMS user ID, enter this command:
SMSG VMNFS M Q CONFIG
If you receive a response that says "Invalid argument ignored", your server is at a level earlier than TCP/IP level 320 for VM/ESA Version 2, Release 4.0.
Another method is to use this command:
RPCINFO -P hostname
If only Version 2 NFS and Version 1 MOUNTD are supported, your server is probably at a release level earlier than TCP/IP level 320 for VM/ESA Version 2, Release 4.0.
