The service can be downloaded using either IBM Download Director
or HTTPS. This will place the files on your workstation, keep the
naming convention for this step, you will rename the files when you
upload them to z/VM. The file names will have
the order number, filetype and other information in it. The names are
too long for z/VM. When you transfer them keep the identifiers such
as SHIPRSU, SHIPDOC and RSUDOC so you know which files are which. For
a Version 7 order there may be GIMPAF.XML and GIMPAF.XSL files.
Those need to keep the same naming conventions as z/VM will use them.
Sample File names provided with your order:
S0001.SHOPD.S2054321.SHIPDOC.pax.z
S0002.SHOPD.S2054321.SHIPRSU1.pax.z
GIMPAF.XML
GIMPAF.XSL
Key for example line one above (S0001.SHOPD.S2054321.SHIPDOC.pax.z):
-
S0001: File number, Download Director will identify 1 of x files.
-
SHOPD: Constant identifier in all V7 orders, can be ignored.
- S2054321: Shopz order number
- SHIPDOC: Document file that is readable once
uncompressed on z/VM using the DETERSE command. Keep this file type
so you know which files are documents and which are service (SHIPRSU1)
once uploaded to z/VM.
- pax.z: PAX is the file type, Portable Archive Exchange file.
This attribute can be ignored.
Choose a logical naming convention that keeps the file type as SHIPxxx
when uploaded to z/VM. You will want to pick a naming convention that
keeps the file number and order number as the file name and the
SHIPDOC or SHIPRSUx as the file type.
Using the example above you may pick file names similar to these:
File names from the example above you may choose to use when uploading files to z/VM:
S2054321.SHIPDOC1
S2054321.SHIPRSU1
GIMPAF.XML
GIMFAF.XSL
