File Extension Table

  • We do plan to add HTML and HTM!
  • We are also thinking about removing DOC from this list, since the EBCDIC-ASCII translations done corrupt some control data when creating Wordpad Documents. If trans=no,lines=none is used on the MOUNT, new Wordpad Documents are created correctly.

Following are the default values used when the trans=ext or lines=ext parameters are used. The system administrator for your system may change or add to these default values by changing the VMNFS CONFIG file used by the NFS server.

File extension is defined to be the last component of the name, that is, the characters following the last period in the path name. Up to eight characters are matched, and mixed case is not respected.
