**> Last update: 30 Apr 2009 **> Synch'd w/RETAIN: 04 May 2009 *********************** * SUBSET 0901RSU * *********************** This subset contains service recommendation information for z/VM Version 5, Release 2 Modification 0 specific to the installation of the RSU tape. Service recommendations for all product components are listed in this subset. Be sure to refer to the RSU subset that matches the service level of the RSU tape that is to be installed. PTF service listed in this subset should be applied after service from the RSU tape has been loaded. After the date that this subset is no longer supported, it is recommended that the latest RSU and corresponding subset be use when applying new levels of service. If you are a SoftwareXcel customer and choose not to use the latest RSU, you can search on HIPER and the applicable component identifiers (ie COMPONENT ID and RELEASE) to determine the recommended service that should be ordered. I N S T A L L A T I O N I N F O R M A T I O N ************************************************************************ 1. 2007/10/30 Due to the manner in which RSU build processing handles VMSES/E build list changes, the 5VMTPCP20 SRVBLDS file supplied with the TCP/IP component on the 0901 RSU cites an incorrect DELETE status for the NSLOOKUP MODULE. This status arises due to TCPBLC92 and TCPBLP92 build list changes associated with APAR PK17330. However, because of the DELETE status, the NSLOOKUP MODULE will be deleted from the 5VMTCP20 client service build disk (device address 492). The production-level NSLOOKUP MODULE will persist following application of the 0901 RSU, but that module will not incorporate any service introduced with the RSU. To ensure that the NSLOOKUP MODULE is correctly updated and placed into production, use the commands that follow, after having logged on to the 5VMTCP20 user ID: vmfsetup 5vmtcp20 tcpip vmfbld ppf 5vmtcp20 tcpip tcpblp92 nslookup (all tcp2prod 5vmtcp20 tcpip 5vmtcp20 tcprun (setup Note that the above commands assume use of the PPF name '5vmtcp20' and the component name of 'tcpip'. If necessary, refer to "7.0 Service Instructions" in the TCP/IP Level 520 Program Directory for more information about the above service commands and placing TCP/IP service into production. ************************************************************************ * SECTION 2.
