LOCAL FIX: PROBLEM SUMMARY: **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of MPRoute. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MPROUTE is sending out incorrect * * advertisements for 0.255.255.255 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY PTF * **************************************************************** When static DEFAULT routes are coded in the GATEWAY statement, the TCP/IP stack sends the routes to MPROUTE. The stack is sending a destination of 0.0.0.0 and a subnetmask of 255.0.0.0. The incorrect subnetmask is causing MPROUTE to send type 5 advertisements for a 0.255.255.255 route. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: TCP/IP has been changed to send a 0.0.0.0 subnetmask for DEFAULT routes.
