CHKRECLM is a utility that lets you check the impact of doing a dynamic memory reclamation prior to doing the actual reclamation. It is similar to the VIR2REAL package, also available on the z/VM download page.

CHKRECLM will give you information about how much you would increase the overcommitment of memory (virtual to real) by taking away real memory from the z/VM system on which it is running. It will also provide information about paging space.

Since a z/VM system and its work may be very dynamic, CHKRECLM only reflects information for the point in time in which it is run.
