TCP/IP SSL Server - Initializing to an Inactive State

SSL Server - Initializing the SSL Daemon to an Inactive State

In the event Linux-specific changes are required after the z/VM SSL server has been configured (to specifically run the SSL daemon application, vmssl), the SSL server must be initialized to an inactive state. Once this is accomplished, Linux-specific modifications can be made.

To initialize the SSL server to an inactive state, logon the SSL server and stop automatic initialization. Then, issue the VMSSL STOP command at the CMS command line:

  vmssl stop

Note:
Although the STOP operand is not documented in all levels of the z/VM: TCP/IP Planning and Customization book, the support for this operand is present in all SSL server levels.
