Sniffer and VM TCP/IP ARP traces show that VM TCP/IP is now replying to ARP requests for any host for which it has an ARP entry. The TCPIP server should only answer requests for itself and the hosts for which it is serving as a proxy. LOCAL FIX: PROBLEM SUMMARY: **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of VM TCP/IP FL310 and FL320 * * with PQ37902 applied * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: With PQ37902 applied, VM TCP/IP answers * * ARP request destined for other hosts. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY PTF * **************************************************************** PROXY ARP support added via PQ37902 has a logic error where ARP request destined for other host is answered by VM TCP/IP. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: An additional check is added in ArpIn() procedure in TCARP to ensure ARP entry is truly intended for VM TCP/IP or its proxy.
