Using External Security Managers
Different from RACF

If you intend to use an External Security Manager (ESM) -- different from RACF -- with TCP/IP for VM, you will likely need to perform alternative or additional configuration steps (as compared to those described in the TCP/IP Planning and Customization documentation) when you configure various TCP/IP servers.

For example, customers who use the VM:Secure product from Sterling Software, Inc., need to perform the configuration steps described in the following Informational APAR:

This Informational APAR may also be helpful when performing configuration steps for other ESM products. Of course, the supplier of the ESM product in use should always be consulted for configuration information specific to that product.

In addition to this Informational APAR, a list of several additional ESM-related APARs that may be of interest to you is available.
