LOCAL FIX: PROBLEM SUMMARY: **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the TELNET server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY PTF * **************************************************************** If the NO3270E option is specified on the INTERNALCLIENTPARMS statement for the z/VM TELNET server and the SECURECONNECTION statement specifies SECURECONNECTION PREFERRED, then attempts to connect to the TELNET server will hang. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: If NOTN3270E and SECURECONNECTION PREFERRED options are specified on the INTERNALCLIENTPARMS statement for the z/VM TELNET server, the TELNET server does not respond to the Terminal-Type Option that is receives from the TELNET client during option subnegotiation for a non-secure connection. This causes the connection attempt to hang. TNSTMAS.PASCAL is updated to properly respond during Terminal-Type subnegotiation. It has also been updated to makes sure that the Terminal-Type subnegotiation does not happen until TLS negotiation is completed.
