The GUICACHE procedure is an EXEC that allows you to easily look at all performance counters maintained by 3990-like cache controllers. The counters include things like: "number of Reads", "number of cache hits", etc. Performance monitor cache reports are also based on these counters.

The counters available from the controller are all cumulative, so by taking a measurement before and after some VM command, you can see what happens in the controller.
The GUICACHE EXEC does exactly this: it prompts you for a command, and then shows all counters, before and after the command and the delta.

The data can be saved in a CMS file.
