My family

Barbara is my wife, she's a Sunday school teacher and girl scout volunteer among many things she's involved with. She was a Girl Scout leader from 1979 - 1998. She was the Endwell Service Unit Manager for Girl Scouts 1998-2001. She is a Lifetime member of Girl Scouts.

Barb is a Site Director at our local council Girl Scout camp as well as a facilitator for the low ropes challenge and the high ropes challenge there.

Barb has visited the National Centers in Ten Sleep, WY, New York and Savanah, GA as well as Our Cabana in Mexico, Pax Lodge in the UK and Our Chalet in Switzerland.

Barb is president of Endwell League of Community Action.

Laura is my daughter, she graduated from the University of Scranton majoring in Public Administration and History and the George Washington University School of Law in Washington D.C. Before having Regan, she was an assistant district attorney. She's a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient and a Lifetime member of Girl Scouts.

Mike is Laura's husband. He's a Maryland grad and a project manager for a major contsruction company.

Regan is Laura and Mike's daughter.

Brian is my son, he graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA majoring in Physics and Astronomy and has an MBA from Vlerick, which is located in Leuven, Belgium. He is an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. He is a volunteer firefighter and EMT.

Hilary is Brian's wife. She's also a graduate of Lycoming College and has an MTA from George Washington University

Xavier is Brian and Hilary's son.

My Hobbies

Boy Scouts

I was Scoutmaster of Troop 202 from December, 1992 until Jan, 2007. Since then, I continue on the troop committee. We meet at First Baptist Church of Endicott on Monday nights from 7-9pm. Troop 202 was formed in 1917 and has met continuously since then. I have 16 years of year round camper with the troop including over 500 nights camping. I was Assistant Scoutmaster from March 1987 to December, 1992. I have backpacked at Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimarron, NM four times 1962, 1991, 1996, 2000 and hiked in over the Tooth of Time on the last three visits.

I have attended the following summer camp programs:

  • 1988 Camp Barton, Trumansburg, NY (on Cayuga Lake)
  • 1989 Camp Barton, and
  • Visited the National Jamboree at FT A.P. Hill, VA while
  • on a week long tour including Washington D.C., Busch Gardens
  • VA and Assatique IS. MD
  • 1990 Week long, 63 mile canoe trip in the Delaware River
  • 1991 Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimarron, NM
  • 1992 Camp Tuscarora, Windsor, NY
  • 1993 Visited the National Jamboree (just like 1989)
  • 1994 Week long, 63 mile canoe trip in the Delaware River
  • 1995 Rodney Scout Reservation, Northeast, MD (on the Chesapeake)

I am a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, a camping and service organization within the Boy Scouts.

I completed Scout Leader Basic training in 1987 and received my Scouter's training award in February 1988.

I received the NESA Scoutmaster award of merit in February 1996.

I received my Scoutmaster's Key in June 1997.

I attended Woodbadge in September 1995 and received my beads in June 1997. (I'm in the Beaver Patrol)

I was recognized with the District Award of Merit in 1999.

I was recognized with the Silver Beaver in 2000.

Church

I was a chapel leader, providing an alternative church service for three to seven year olds, at St. Paul's Episcopal church in Endicott, NY. for many years. It has been said that I have found my peer group.

I am recognized as one of the older kids in the congregation.

Girl Scouts

I am a Lifetime member of Girl Scouts.

I was cookie manager for 11 years while my daughter was growing up and gave that job up when I took the Scoutmaster job with the Boy Scouts.

Along with my wife, I am a Site Director at our local council Girl Scout camp and a low ropes challenge and high ropes facilitator.

I had the opportunity to share driving an 18 year old 66 passenger school bus from Endicott, NY to Ten Sleep, WY for a 4 week trip to what was then the Girl Scout National Center West in 1986.

In 1998 I had the opportunity to travel with my wife and 16 other girl scout leaders and some spouses from Indian Hills Council Girl Scouts USA to Pax Lodge in London and Our Chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland. We had 3 days of sightseeing in London. At Our Chalet, we had a 10 day program of sightseeing and hiking as part of a group of 54 leaders from around the world.

In 2002 I had the opportunity to travel with my wife and 10 other girl scout leaders and some spouses from Indian Hills Council Girl Scouts USA to Our Cabana in Cuernavaca Mexico. We spent 3 days sightseeing in Mexico City and had a 10 program at our cabana including a trip to see the area where the monarch butterflies spend their winter. We met other Girl Scout and Girl Guide adults from the United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, Guatamala and Canada who also participated in the program.
